Ethiopia harrar longberry

This coffee comes from Harrar Oromia region in the northeastern part of Ethiopia, the part of Ethiopia which separates East Africa. Cooperative Ilily Deratu, wich consists of 491 small farmers. The cooperative is both certifed organic and Fair Trade. The beans are handpicked and only fully ripe beans are used. Drying takes about two weeks and only when the fesh is completely dry and the fruit is as hard raisins in both color and form, the coffee is ready to export. Ilily Deratu cooperative use of drying beds to ensure that the coffee is dried on a smooth and benefcial way. The whole process is very diferent from the wet method used primarily in the Sidamo and Yirgachefe. This leaves its mark even on the coffee character.

Espresso Fair Trade Organic

This is something as rare as an espresso coffee that is both good and ethical. We have blended Arabica beans from Ethiopia (region of Yirgachefe) and Indonesia (Gayoprovinsen in Sumatra). Together they create a full-bodied espresso with soft chocolate tones and a sweet fruitiness. The coffee beans are purchased from cooperatives.

It’s grown completely organic and Fair Trade ensures that coffee farmers receive fair payment and support to build a long term business.
